The manifestation of revelation is one of the foundational concepts in Islamic mysticism and philosophy, playing a central role in elucidating the relationship between God, the Perfect Human, and the cosmos. This article employs a comparative content analysis to examine the perspectives of four prominent Islamic thinkers—Ibn Arabi, Mulla Sadra, Ruhollah Khomeini, and Abdollah Javadi Amoli—regarding the manifestation of revelation and the ontological status of the Perfect Human. The central question addressed is:What is the mechanism of the manifestation of revelation within the intellectual systems of these thinkers, and what role does the Perfect Human play in this process? The findings indicate that the manifestation of revelation is a multilayered phenomenon intrinsically linked to the ontological degrees of the Perfect Human.Ibn ʿArabi regards the Perfect Human as the “mirror of the Greatest Name” and the mediator of divine effusion. Mulla Sadra emphasizes the soul’s existential ascent and the perfection of cognitive faculties in the reception of revelation.Imam Khomeini analyzes the manifestation of revelation within the dual arcs of descent and ascent.Jawadi Amoli underscores the gradational descent of revelation and the mediatory function of the existential degrees of the Perfect Human. While these perspectives converge on the necessity of the recipient’s ontological perfection for the reception of revelation, they diverge in their precise articulation of the mechanisms underlying this process. By critically engaging each viewpoint, this study proposes a comprehensive framework for a systematic understanding of the manifestation of revelation and the role of the Perfect Human in Islamic mysticism.
