The idea of Islamic humanities has been a subject of discussion and examination in the intellectual domains of the Islamic world for several decades. In this context, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli is among the scholars who have presented their perspectives on this topic within the framework of Islamic philosophy and wisdom. By transcending the empiricist view of science and humanities, he denies the confinement of knowledge to its sensory and empirical meaning and believes that the identity of science, including the humanities, lies in its Discovery of the known. Distinguishing between natural sciences and humanities, he considers the criterion for the Islamization of humanities to be, in addition to the Discovery of knowledge about the known, the alignment of the subject matter with God’s legislative will. That is, if the subject matter of humanities is considered in relation to God’s legislative will and humanities undertake the study of such a subject, Islamic humanities will be realized.
