One of the important issues regarding reason is its authority and the role of forgery or discovery of rulings in religious discussions. Religious thinkers should refer to sources to understand religion in order to gain a correct understanding and knowledge of religion. On the other hand, correct religious knowledge is in the shadow of the correct use of its sources.In this regard, it is apparent from the appearance of some of Allamah Javadi Amoli's statements that he believes in the discovery of rulings by reason and denies the issuance of rulings. However, in some of his other works, it is apparent that he considers reason to be an independent source alongside the Book and the Sunnah, and believes that reason expresses what the Book and the Sunnah do not express.This research examines these positions using a critical analytical method. The findings of the research show that on the one hand, reason can succeed in understanding and discovering the divine decree by looking at the narration, and on the other hand, by recognizing some advantages and disadvantages along with its narration, it can forge the divine decree. In fact, the divine decree is expressed through two tools: narration and reason, and reason is also considered a source for the divine decree
